When I learned that people ‘came out’ as gay, I sat worried for about a week incase I suddenly realised I was gay.
I wasn’t upset at the idea of being a lesbian, I was just frightened incase I was one and didn’t know it.
I wish I could talk to little me now and tell her I’m definitely one of those hetero-style women and I would give her a pat on the head for being worried about a lack of knowledge rather than being prejudiced and homophobic.
